The first visit

Step by step to fulfilling your desire to have children

Timely advice on unfulfilled desire to have children helps to prevent unnecessary worries from arising in the first place. Ideally, this should happen after half a year, so as not to let the burden become unnecessarily great. Today we can help most couples fulfill their desire to have children. Often small steps and simple treatments are sufficient.

At your first appointment with us, you will receive a questionnaire before the consultation, which will help the doctor to structure the consultation. Please bring copies of previous medical findings to leave in your file. In the following, in-depth consultation, we will talk about your situation, your medical history and further examinations. We usually determine important hormone parameters on the same day and arrange an appointment to examine male fertility. Together we plan your treatment with an honest assessment of your chances of success. We implement your individual wishes as well as the latest findings and methods of reproductive medicine. What is important to us here: no one but you decides on the further steps in diagnostics or therapy. We will not pressure you into treatment, but would like to help you decide on your own path, which we would be happy to walk together with you.

Modern reproductive medicine

Targeted therapies for your desire to have children

If the desire to have children remains unfulfilled, modern methods of reproductive medicine can help. When making the decision, we use simple diagnostic procedures to recommend the therapy that is most suitable for you as precisely as possible.

During insemination, specially prepared sperm is introduced directly into the uterus. This shortens the path of the sperm to the egg and increases the likelihood of fertilization. This method is suitable if there is sufficient male fertility and the fallopian tubes are open.

If there is an irregular cycle, hormones can be used to induce the necessary ovulation.

Here, oocytes and sperm are brought together outside the body in a nutrient solution. For this purpose, the woman is hormonally stimulated so that several oocytes mature.

After fertilization in the laboratory and observation, usually over 5 days, an embryo is inserted into the uterus using a soft catheter.

IVF is often used for blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, but also for unknown reasons for the failure to become pregnant.

It is often possible to obtain and fertilize more oocytes than would be necessary for the transfer of an embryo. The creation of such a fertility reserve significantly increases the chances of treatment and often offers the possibility, even years later, to fulfill the desire for another child with these frozen oocytes or embryos.

ICSI is a special form of IVF. A single sperm is injected directly into the oocyte. This method is often used if sperm quality is limited or if the fertilization rate is low in a previous IVF attempt.

If the sperm count is extremely reduced, surgical removal of testicular tissue is required in rare cases. This procedure can also be carried out in our practice by the urologists cooperating with us, so that the tissue can be frozen immediately afterwards.

We cooperate with a large number of sperm banks in Europe and advise you on the special features of treatment with donor sperm.

Your desired child as a single mother

Self-determined and empathetic – your path to motherhood

Many women experience the desire to have a child as a deep need – regardless of whether they are in a partnership or not. According to our previous experience, the decision to go this path alone is well-considered by the patients and an expression of their conviction to realize their own life planning, mostly with the support of family and friends.

Treatments for single mothers are associated with medical and emotional aspects as well as legal framework conditions. We are at your side to advise you in detail and to accompany you with empathy every step of the way.

Fertility treatment for single mothers is usually carried out with sperm donation. Whether insemination (IUI) or in-vitro fertilization (IVF) is the right method for you, we will clarify together in a detailed discussion and the necessary preliminary examinations. In doing so, we are guided entirely by your individual needs and requirements.

Your desire to become a mother deserves respect and support. We want you to feel understood and in good hands with us. Because a family is not only created through a partnership, but above all through dedication and the desire to give a child a safe home and a good start in their own future.

Recurrent miscarriages

Empathetic support and medical expertise

Recurrent miscarriages are extremely stressful and painful events on the path to your own family. Each of these experiences is a deep incision, accompanied by questions, doubts and sometimes also feelings of guilt. You are not alone with these experiences, and no woman should go this path without support.

Our practice has been dealing intensively with this sensitive topic for many years, and all employees are extremely experienced in dealing with grieving patients.

Recurrent miscarriages can have many causes. Our goal is to get to the bottom of these in order to help you fulfill your desire to have children. The diagnostics include various examinations, including hormone analyses, genetic tests, ultrasound examinations of the uterus and the examination of coagulation and immune factors. These examinations allow us to identify possible reasons for the miscarriages and to plan a suitable treatment. Your emotional situation is just as important in this process as medical support. That is why we take time for your questions and fears and stand by you with empathy and our professional competence.

Male fertility

More opportunities with diagnosis and therapy

An unfulfilled desire to have children affects not only women, but also men. Male fertility plays a decisive role in about half of all couples who want to have children. Therefore, a thorough and early diagnosis is also an important step for men to clarify possible causes and treat them in a targeted manner.

The basis of the examination is the spermiogram, in which the quality, number and motility of the sperm are checked. Further possible tests include hormonal examinations to rule out hormonal disorders, as well as genetic diagnostics to detect chromosomal abnormalities. If there are any abnormalities, an appointment with a urologist or andrologist is advisable, e.g. to assess anatomical features or other factors influencing fertility.

Should there be a limitation of fertility that cannot be therapeutically improved by the urologist or andrologist, we will discuss with you and your partner the possible treatment options from insemination to IVF/ICSI therapy.

The diagnosis of fertility problems is no reason to lose courage. Together we will find ways to improve your chances of pregnancy and starting a family.

Freezing of oocytes and sperm

Maintain fertility – cryopreservation for your family planning

Freezing oocytes and sperm, also known as “cryopreservation”, is a way to preserve your fertility for the future.

In women, oocytes are removed after hormonal stimulation and then frozen in liquid nitrogen. This process protects the oocytes so that they can be used again at a later date. This is particularly useful if you want to postpone your family planning for personal or health reasons (e.g. before chemotherapy).

In men, sperm cells are obtained through a sperm sample and also frozen. These can then be used for fertility treatment later. Here, too, the procedure is helpful in the event of health risks or if you want to secure your fertility in the long term.

The frozen cells retain their quality for many years. When you are ready to fulfill your desire to have children, the oocytes or sperm cells can be thawed and used with modern treatment methods such as IVF-ICSI. We would be happy to advise you personally and support you in implementing your future plans in the best possible way.

Information on costs

Billing of fertility treatments

green-ivf bills reproductive medical services for patients with statutory health insurance according to the current EBM (uniform assessment scale) via the insurance card. However, for many therapeutic services for patients with statutory health insurance, there is a co-payment of 50%. Privately insured patients are billed according to the currently valid scale of fees for doctors (GOÄ) with the usual increase factors. Patients without a payer are also billed according to the scale of fees for doctors. Flat rates for therapy cycles are not permitted by law.

You will be informed individually about the exact billing method when it has been determined which therapies are to be carried out. You will also receive an individual cost estimate. In addition to the actual treatment costs at green-ivf, there are usually additional costs for medication, possibly for anesthesia and for therapy modalities that are not covered by either statutory or private health insurance (for example, most therapies as part of cryopreservation). For various reasons, the official payers sometimes do not participate in some diagnostic measures either. You will also be informed about this individually.

After a corresponding application, most payers participate in the first three treatment cycles for married couples and for patients with statutory health insurance within specified age limits. Should treatment cycles beyond this be necessary, the billing modalities for individual situations will be determined in advance in a renewed discussion with you.
